BigBergBig North Atlantic Iceberg

. Results are back on two Saline cousins and they match 37/37 on the extended Y-DNA test. They matched me 24/25 on the first 2 "panels" (markers 1-12 and 13-25) with the difference being on DYS 458 which is a fast moving marker.

. Two others, one of whom traces his lineage back to Oulu, Finland (which is the same general geographic area as the Salines came from) match us 12/12. The other traces back to Scotland.

. Our lone Salinas participant received the first panel markers and turned out to be in haplogroup, E3a which seems to indicate the Salinas name is not derived from Saline nor vice-versa..they might, however have a common root. If we get more participants, maybe we can find out about that.

A couple of other notes .. my (Chris) haplogroup is N3a and is confirmed by SNP testing. Eugene D.'s is G2 and confirmed by SNP testing. Both are relatively rare in the US right now. Mike and Eddie are full siblings of each other and half-sibs of me. My Mikovsky brothers are haplogroup R1a
